This week I was housesitting at various parent's houses - so I availed myself of the American pastime - cable TV.

I found that the news is truly shocking in it's right wing bent (liberal media my ass), and the commentators bring liberal (or middle of the road, really) guests on just to abuse them. I witnessed a man named Joe Scarborough who has a show on MSNBC yelling at a member of the New York City Council. It was an appalling demonstration of the need for country-wide therapy for anger management. Not to mention lack of journalistic integrity. This was repeated on various shows and channels - it's even been reprinted in Harpers magazine - Bill O'Reilly yelling at a member of Peaceful Tomorrows (the families of 9/11 opposed to war). Screaming is not journalism.

I'm not sure why the American public watches.

However, I am convinced that the American public is so duped, on such a grand scale, that only a miracle will open their eyes... what kind of miracle?

Dubya sprouts horns and a forked tongue?
Every secretary with a corporate fraud secret goes to the NY Times on the same day?
Dick Cheney tells the truth?
Everyone in America votes?
Noam Chomsky gets his own show on MSNBC?
Arianna Huffington gets her own show on FOX?
Jesus appears to all republicans and tells them to give up their riches and devote themselves to the poor?
Allah makes a personal appearance on Al Jeezera and tells all Muslims to close the oil wells and go solar?
We run out of natural gas, petroleum, diamonds and gold on the same day?
Everyone in America discovers that 9/11 was engineered by the CIA? (see www.911pi.com )

I did see one miracle on TV - Ramsey Clark, Attorney General under Johnson at the National Press Club (C-span of course). Very well spoken elder statesman who is spearheading the movement to get GW impeached www.votetoimpeach.org . Of course the question was asked "If we have a republican congress and high approval ratings, how do you expect to get support?" and he looked at the reporter and said "When the American people find out how much they have been lied to, they will demand justice." Let's just hope America unplugs from the Matrix before we have the 4th Reich as our government....
