Flipping
over the SpiralMuse.com calendar page from October
to November, I'm reminded that
while the month of November typically puts us smack
dab in the middle of the holiday celebrations, it
is also a time of deep reflection and introspection.
One for learning to love ourselves ever moreso as
we take care of others in our lives. A winding down.
A time of impending sleep and

closure as the year nods its head. Come January –
just a few short weeks away – a new year will break
ground.
Notes best-selling author and speaker Cheryl Richardson:
“The end of October always makes me feel like
nesting – updating a cozy corner in
my home for solitude and self reflection. This "turning
inward" allows
me to deepen the connection to my spiritual core. From
this place I feel
a stronger relationship with the Divine force that works
through me and
I gain access to wisdom that allows me to make wise
choices about my life. This nesting also allows my body
and mind to deeply rest in order
to be of better service to others.”
One of the best ways to honor the month of November
is through the
fine art of aromatherapy. A long time ascriber
to the craft myself –
among other things, I’ve devoured making cotton
and satin-square sachets, candles, and natural cosmetics,
and growing fragrant-filled herbs and flowers since
childhood – aromatherapy lifts one’s spirits,
heals, inspires, soothes, and more. Essential oils are
an important part
of my medicine cabinet and even for cleaning...lovely
lavender and chamomile for relaxing...spirited orange
for happy-making...cedarwood
for spiritual balancing...powerful tea tree oil to disinfect.
Rose, ah rose,
a timeless source of beauty and love.
Too, there is nothing quite as pleasurable for me as
a walk through my outdoor herb garden, being able to
pick a sprig of thyme, mint, or lemon verbana fresh
from the bush; I put it up to my nose and breathe in
the delicious odor. All worries and cares simply disappear
in the moment, inspiring a oneness with Mother Nature.
So while you’re creating your gifts from the
heart during this special
time of the year, remember to also take time to honor
your own special Spiral Muse spirit with a little aromatherapy.
Or better yet, a lot of aromatherapy. You’ll find
it makes such good scents!
I’d love to hear from you! Drop me a line
sometime soon and tell
me all about your favorite experiences with aromatherapy
and aromatherapy gift-crafting. Photos of your crafts
are always
welcome and encouraged.
Best wishes! Patti (PJ)
