In Tune With The Moon...

One of the essence qualities of this sign is familiarity. Those people, places, and things that are so there in our lives that we can hardly perceive ourselves as separate or distinct from them, hence the symbol for Gemini is the Twins. What in your world is so part of who you are that you can hardly even see it/them? Its kind of a tricky question, because it asks us to be aware of things in a whole different way. Which is part of another essence quality of Gemini which is the generation of perspective. Like a good teacher can take the obvious and create interest, learning, and a whole new way of seeing something that is right in front of you... like a bug, or a tree, or the sun.

So as we continue our tour through Gemini (it started with the sun moving into the sign on May 21), we can ponder those things around us with the fresh eye of a student, curious and willing to learn. Perhaps we will be able to see our selves, our people, our homes, our purpose, our planet in a new perspective.

The New Moon of May 30, still has Venus and Mercury trailing behind in Taurus. This will give our new moon experience a more earthy anchor. Perhaps our attentions will be on our bodies, our finances, our gardens, or the environment. That may be a great place to set intentions as the moon grows. Blending Gemini with Taurus gives us new perspectives and new ways of communicating about our earthly needs and our planetary home.

As the moon grows, we have several planetary events that have us becoming more and more outspoken. Although, what we are interested in talking about may have gone through a change... lets hope so, especially if this change has us opening up to new realms of freedom and responsibility. Perhaps of the heart... perhaps in relationship to our parents, perhaps to our souls, perhaps to the earth.

The Full Moon on June 14 dances close to Pluto. Which means that we have to be extra careful of power struggles. Full moons usually induce polarized experiences, and this can often bring an important balance to the lessons of the cycle. The moon will be in the sign of Sagittarius, so our new perspectives may grow into an full blown soap box. This is the humbling moment where we all become of aware of where we are fundamentalist, opinionated people too! This is always a good check and can help us grow to another level of understanding what is the real truth... underneath it all. Mercury also is also square Uranus on this day, and what that might bring is a wake up call from the spirit world. Uranus brings sudden changes or revelations and Mercury rules our thought process and communication. You may be shocked at what comes out of your mouth!

As we let go of this lunar cycle, we move into a deeper feminine space. The waning moon occurs on the same day as the Summer Solstice. Other planetary motions (please refer to Dancing with Heavenly Bodies) evoke sensitivity to emotional issues. Commitment to protecting children, the planet, and our very souls may build as we release the talking and move into feeling. This is a beautiful thing. May we integrate our hearts with our voices.
